Traditional hoplite phalanx warfare was dominant in Greece from about 700 BC to 338 BC. Throughout this time though, there were commanders willing to break with traditon.
In a one-page essay, describe some of the changes we have noticed as Greek warfare evolved the Persian Wars on through to the Peloponnesian War through to the period known as the Theban Hegemony. Discuss the innovations of Greek commanders who broke with tradition. Some names that should pop up in your essay will include Miltiades, Demosthenes, and Epaminondas.
